Our Child's room
It is not enough to create a functional space for your children; it also has to
be a fun and enjoyable environment where they feel safe and can be themselves.
Kids that have fun furnishings and decorating materials will not mind spending
time in their multipurpose room. They will love using it as a play area, make it
into an entertainment hub when their friends come over, or find it a great and
functional computer and study hall. It will be their private sanctuary, where
they can be creative and use their imagination without bothering other household
members.
Older kids today are more style conscious then ever and it may be a good idea to
take them along when picking out their furniture and decoration pieces. They
want their rooms to have character, even if that means using gutsy, bold colors
and odd shaped furnishings, statements parents do not have to deal with when
their children are still little and less independent.
For the smaller kids, toys may be more important than the dresser they are stored in at night. Toys are vital tools that help foster the mental, physical, emotional and social development of children and should be carefully chosen. A stuffed teddy bear can be comforting but, at one time or another, also books, puzzles and other educational playthings should be incorporated into the child’s environment. Remember, only a well-balanced room will make your child feel comfortable during the day and help it sleep well at night!

Finding
the perfect decorating theme for your child’s room is not always easy. One day
your toddler‘s best friend is a princess, fairy, or cartoon character, and a few
weeks later she is crazy about rainbows and Minnie Mouse, and her brother loves
cars and trains.
As adorable as your children’s ideas may be, if you do not want to redecorate
their room every few months, pick a theme that will be popular and grow with
them for a long time. With the right background, all you have to do once in a
while is make a few minor changes and the room will look like new again.
Bringing the call of the wild into your child’s sleeping quarters or play den is
one of the best initiatives you may ever take. Children love animals, regardless
if they show up in a painting of Noah’s ark, during a Safari or Zoo documentary,
a mysterious jungle story, peacefully going about their day on a farm, or as a
stuffed animal at the department store. Children believe
animals are cute and they always want one.
Stenciling is a great way to bring any scenery to life on walls, ceiling and
floor. Handy crafters can make their own cut-outs, but most craft stores will
carry a variety of pre-cut stencils. All you have to do is buy paint and follow
the included instructions. The nice thing about murals is that you can always
paint over them, or add more detail as time goes on. It’s so easy, even
furniture can be decorated with leaves, trees or tiny animals.
If you are not very handy, any room can be uniquely accessorized with animal bedding and linens, pillows, rugs and drapes, mobiles, nightlights, canvas art, and let us not forget, many fun and/or educational toys. Even the toy storage box can be in animal design! You will not believe your eyes, but your child will love it, because in such a fun room his or her imagination can really come to life!
Personalized children’s books are the perfect gift. They bring magic to reading, rhyming, counting, and exploring the world. Everything will look a lot more interesting. Addressing a child directly by adding his or her name several times throughout the book will trigger more interest and imagination. Add the names of favorite friends and family members and the child will definitely feel as the main character.
Your childs room
Your child is an unique individual with opinions, dreams and
personalities, therefore their room should also be a reflection
of this unique individual as well. Many children would love the
opportunity to decorate their own rooms, putting their own little twist and
creative stamp to the decor. Allowing your child an opportunity to be a part of
this process will give them a sense of accomplishment, freedom and control and
will allow them the opportunity to express their creativity.
With your help and guidance of course, there can be a balance between a nice kid
friendly room and a possible catastrophe.
There are a vast variety of department stores that offer an array of decorating
options for your child to choose from. The comforters on the bedding, pictures,
color patterns, lighting can all be chosen by your child. There are also
furniture stores with really nice options for your child to choose from. These
furniture stores may also ofer online shopping that can be a more convienent
alternative than taking an opinionated child into the actual place of buisness.
Also by shopping online you may be able to benefit from possible bargins that
are available.
There should also be some consideration for the fact that children grow and
mature, so make sure that you choose a few transitional furniture pieces that
will adapt to this growth as well. When decorating your child's room you can
also take this opportunity to put your own little stamp to it by creating a
small reading section in the room. This reading area can have a small desk, a
nice little bookshelf, and a small comfortable reading chair. This little input
from you as a parent can create a love for reading and learning that is
invaluable. Your child's room should be relaxing, enjoyable and comfortable,
reflecting your child's character and personal style.
